It’s official. We’ve just had the busiest month. Ever.
On top of the usual chaos we’ve had birthday parties, scout events, soccer matches, swim meets, picture days, school meetings, dentist and doctors appointments, a bake sale, Halloween (which comprised nine, NINE, separate events…), mustache day and a trip to the ER. Whew.
And my husband was away on business for half of it. Ahem.
Needless to say everyone has been a little tired. And grumpy.
It’s been so much fun, trip to the ER notwithstanding, but there really is only so much fun you can have before it all goes pear shaped.
Siblings that say they never fight are most definitely hiding something.

I’ve said before that, on the whole, I don’t mind the fighting. It goes with the territory, and only siblings can fight with that kind of freedom and confidence. It’s not a bad thing but, boy, is it hard to listen to sometimes.
The wee girl and the 7yo have had some cracking bust-ups this month, and they seem to keep get better and better at winding each other up. I don’t know if it’s the age difference, the age they are right now or simply their personalities. Whatever it is, the fights can be impressive. And loud.
Over as quickly as they start though!
But when they get in the car! It’s like a switch. All three of them. Poking and prodding. Teasing and tormenting. Talking over each other. My turn. My turn. MY TURN!
Drives me nuts.
I’m holding out for this mild autumn to last as long as possible so that we can keep walking to school. They don’t bicker when we walk. They chat. Amiably.
That makes for a much more pleasant start to the day!
