The Prompt: A perfect day

The Prompt 13: A perfect Day

Pancakes for breakfast; kids smiling faces.
Long lazy morning; no rushing to places.
Chatting and laughing; time spent together,
This is the start of our perfect day.

Fresh air and sunshine; a stroll in the park.
Scooting and cycling; swinging and climbing.
Running and laughing; playing together,
This would come next, on our perfect day.

A picnic, a blanket; a lake and a view.
Quiet, relaxing; peaceful and precious.
Eating and laughing; enjoying together,
This is what makes our perfect day.

A museum, a zoo, an aquarium, a theme park.
Fun and excitement; eyes shining brightly.
Learning and laughing; growing together,
This is how we’d spend our perfect day.

Pizza, a movie; popcorn and treats.
Taking turns choosing, favourites repeating!
Snuggling and laughing; time spent together,
This is the end of our perfect day.

Together.
Safe.
Happy.
Here.
Memories made, moments to treasure.
That is a perfect day.

  1. Ahhhh Sara I love it. I will have mine up within the hour too. Look at me on the first day can you believe? Lol love love this poetic perfect day. Sounds absolutely heavenly !!! Great prompt this week!!!! As always. Thanks for hosting.

  2. Great post, Sara! Those little things in life make our perfect days! Your American pancakes look delicious, you will have to share your recipe at some point! (every time I have attempted a recipe, they have turned out tasting like omelette!) x Mel #ThePrompt

It is the little things, isn’t it? The pancakes are good, I do cheat a little and use a pancake flour, it’s getting the proportions right :)

  3. Funny as I sat down to write my post I immediately thought this week’s prompt lends itself to a poem and I almost wrote one too! Its interesting to see how different people have come at this – your perfect day seems to consist of a relatively normal day with enhancements whilst I chose to imagine something a bit more extraordinary (and therefore less likely!) but I guess our perfect days meet when it comes to spending time with our families! X

I almost did exactly what you did, but when I started to think of perfect moments it was pancakes and picnics that were at the forefront of my mind! It would be lovely to have the time to do all of these things in one day, with nothing else getting in the way x

  4. Sounds like a pretty fab day to me! It’s definitely the little things that are important for perfect family time. Loving the poem too! I’m thinking I need to get a bit more creative with my blogging now the novel’s finished… X

Thank you, it doesn’t take too much for a da to be pretty perfect for me :) Although if I was able to squeeze a little me-time in there it would be even better! I’m enjoying trying some new styles :)

Thank you, I wish we could manage more days like it, although it’s probably a tall order to fit it all in :)
