Well, this week has been different! A much needed change from the last few weeks :)
No one has been sick.
We are on holiday.
I *whispers* went out for a drink with friends…
Definitely different!
We’ve had a good week so far. Easter weekend was lovely, lots of fun with the kids and a lovely meal with friends on Easter Sunday. The weather has picked up, no snow this week :) Hubby was off on Monday, so we were able to go out for breakfast, a rare treat, and have a fun and relaxing day.
Yesterday and today we went somewhere new, somewhere different. I even drove into Boston, something I avoid almost completely!
We took a trip to Salem yesterday with friends, to the Peabody Essex Museum. We had a lovely time, the kids had a blast; enjoying the many interactive activities and the ‘big room at the end of the corridor’ where they ran around in circles….
Then today we went to an indoor community play space (which involved the, not so fun, drive into Boston!). Again, meeting friends and again, watching the kids run around in circles :)
I am a creature of habit, and I tend to stick to where and what I know. I’m not a fan of driving to new places and I’m not very good at going somewhere for the first time, not knowing what to expect; it makes me very nervous.
But, I know that the kids needed to make something of their holiday. Have a proper, fun break from school. So I have said yes to all suggestions, swallowed my own nervousness, and gone. The kids have had a great time!
How has your week been?

Sounds like a great week! I hate driving unfamiliar places, too and avoid it when I can. It’s hard to say no when it’s for your kids though! :)
Absolutely, you just have to get on with it, don’t you!
I know what you mean about driving somewhere new – must be even worse when you’re on the other side of the road!! Sounds like it was all worth it though! #wotw
It was! I hate driving somewhere new, but has to be done or you’d never go anywhere :)
No snow! Now that does sound good, given it is end April. Glad you had a good week #wotw
Thanks! At last a week without snow :)
ooohh busy week for you! nice that you are experiencing so many new! I have a ‘new’ in my life too. starting some office volunteer works. nothing grand but its new as well. #wotw
Thank you, it’s been fun x
It’s nice sometimes to do something out of the ordinary. Glad you had a great time despite the nerves #wotw
Thank you x
Ah sounds like you had a great time and well done you for breaking out of your comfort zone! I have to push myself to do the same sometimes, as i know I’ll enjoy it when I’m there! Glad you all had a lovely time, and that you got out with friends too! xx #wotw
Thank you Caroline, it always ends well, it’s just getting there can be a bit daunting at times :)
I’m another one who doesn’t like driving or even going to unfamiliar places. It’s something that has to be done though and sometimes a change is good. I’m glad you’ve had a fun time.
Thank you, sometimes you really do just have to do it!
It sounds like a great week, I’m totally jealous that you’ve had a week “off”, well done on driving into Boston, I avoid driving into Toronto like the plague! #WotW
Thanks Lou x
What a busy week you have had! Sometimes it is good to do something different #WotW
It has been busy, but definitely good fun :)
It sounds great! I do like different, though for every different week I have, I like a routine one! Thanks for sharing with #WotW x
Absolutely :) I’m hoping this week is a bit less eventful x
That sounds like a great week!!
