A new day
untouched by history
is fresh and
inviting;
full of opportunity,
to begin again:
recharge.
A new day
unbiased by prejudice
is open and
welcoming;
full of possibility,
to restore faith:
renew.
A new day
unspoiled by regret
is immense and
limitlesss;
full of potential,
to reclaim hope:
revive.

This is beautiful Sara – I love this perspective of a new day being untouched, unbiased and unspoiled with the potential for hope and possibility. You’ve managed to sum up so much of what a new day can bring in just a few perfect words.
Thank you Louise, I try to see each new day this way. Not always easy, but something to aspire to x
Absolutely beautiful Sara – I love that we have a similar take on all that a new day can hold. It is so important to be able to look at each day as a new start and not just a new year. Thank you for hosting #ThePrompt x
Thank you Vicky, a new day is always full of possibility x
I like the optimistic tone of this piece. Start afresh without regret, very sound advice indeed. x
Easier said than done sometimes, but definitely something to aspire to x
When I was reading this I had an image in my head of a gleaming white fresh piece of paper – the perfect image for your lovely poem I think Sara. The potential of a fresh day, fresh start. #theprompt xx
The initial draft said ‘a blank page’ rather than ‘a new day’ ! But the verses made more sense with a new day, I think…!
Lovely thoughts…I always think you can deal with problems & worries better at the start of a new day. It’s hard not to hold onto what went before, but sometimes you do have to try to let go of things & start afresh… #ThePrompt
I think that’s right, and it can be very hard to let go, but definitely worth trying x
Your poetry is always so good. You should enter them into competitions or even put together a collection and get them published.
Oh, thank you Nicola, that is a lovely comment. I have been toying with the idea of pulling them all together, for myself if nothing else :) Competitions, that’s a bit scary!
Stunning words, Sara! I love how you describe a new day in various ways–filled with hope and potential. Such a great reminder to cherish every fresh start we get. Thanks for hosting us on #ThePrompt! Have a lovely week :)
Thank you Maria. It’s not always easy to do, is it? But certainly worth aiming for x
