Today marks a day no one would wish to see. That no one should see.
Today the beautiful Matilda Mae, daughter of Jennie (who blogs at Edspire) has been gone for as long as she was with us.
Tragically, Matilda Mae was taken from her family by SIDS exactly nine months ago, on 2 February. She was exactly nine months old.
A life cut far too short.

Since Matilda Mae’s death, Jennie has worked tirelessly to raise awareness and to raise funds for The Lullaby Trust.
Today, there was a Welly Walk, in memory of Matilda Mae.
I wish my family and I could have been there to support Jennie in person.
Instead, we took one of our favourite walks. In our wellies! We went back to the woods where we walked A Mile in Memory of Matilda Mae.
We crunched through leaves and stomped in the mud. The sky was clear blue and the sun was shining. It was beautiful. We blew bubbles and we remembered a beautiful little girl. We thought of her amazing, inspiring mother. We thought of her family, working so hard to help other families.
If you were at the walk, I hope you had a wonderful time.
I hope it was everything that Jennie wished it to be.

I just read the story of Matilda Mae through your post…I’m still in tears as I write this…but it’s good to hear that her sweet but too short life is now helping raise awareness and other families.
It is utterly heartbreaking. I still cry when I read Jennie’s blog, but her writing and tireless fund raising are inspirational xx
