Starting Cub Scouts

Last week my 7yo had his very first Pack Meeting for Cub Scouts!

He was very excited and he is really looking forward to all the activities and events, getting to know the boys in his den, earning his badges and learning new things.

He is growing up so fast, and it’s lovely to see him get so excited about something new. He’s not really a ‘team sports’ kind of kid, so I hope that Scouts will be somewhere that he can be part of a team, learn new skills and learn to work with others, make new friends and really enjoy himself.

It will be also be good one-on-one time for him and his dad, something that I think he would really benefit from. With three kids, it’s sometimes hard for the boys to get some time alone with me or their dad – and I know that they both love it when they do.

I’m actually quite jealous of some of the activities they will be doing, like staying over night in the Science Museum and on the USS Massachusetts!

My big boy!

  1. I think Scouts is such a great organisation, and it’s lovely that your boy will get to spend some time with dad because of it. I hope he gets a lot out of it.

  2. Ohh how fab! The scouts are fab! My friends son goes and loves it! They get up to all sorts….It sounds so much fun x

  3. Yes, it’s good to see them get excited about something. It sounds strange, but if they know what they like, you’re half way there. Having a passion and interests in life, whether you’re a child or adult, helps you in every way.

  4. He looks really proud in his uniform and it sounds like he will be doing some amazing activities. Can’t wait to hear all about them and the badges he gains.

Thanks for linking up with Small Steps Amazing Achievements :0)
