A view, once seen
and loved
inspires and remains
in clear focus,
though distance may try
to blur.
A view, once seen
in happiness
is coloured rose
as memory refines,
though absence may try
to fade.
A view, once seen
through tears
is still the same
beneath the sheen,
though sorrow may try
to dim.
A view, once seen
through loss
is heavy with regret
but still remains,
though fear may try
to bleach.
A view, once seen
and loved
can never be unseen
or lost to pain,
and time will never
alter.

Gorgeous words as always! Your poems leave me very thoughtful hon, I really enjoy them xx
Thank you Renee, I wrote this one with a dear friend in my mind x
Just read this on FB. Such a beautiful tribute to your friend. So sorry for your loss. xxx
Thank you Maddy, it is so terribly sad x
So touching and beautiful. I haven’t been in the writing mode much this year and poetry has taken a back seat to running time and walking the dog, but I do feel like a part of me is missing without it. Here in NZ the long summer school hols are approaching and I really think I should get out my notebook and start penning some prose again. Thanks so much for running this link-up and for our inspiration and encouragement.
Thank you, and thank you for joining in, hope to see you again x
Very thoughful as always, Sara. Feels very profound – you may love and lose, but whatever you have lost has a place in your heart always is what it says to me xx #ThePrompt
Thank you Leigh, I wrote it with a friend in mind x
