Magic Moments: Happy Birthday baby girl!

Happy Birthday Baby Girl

The wee girl turned one on Saturday! I can’t believe that she is one already. It seems like no time at all since she was a tiny baby, and now she is a beautiful, lively, determined (almost) toddler.

We started the celebrations on Friday with a party thrown by a lady that we met at the hotel we stayed in when we first moved over here. Mary deserves a post all to herself, another day, suffice to say that she is a long term resident in the hotel who has a adopted several families who have stayed there at the start of a ‘relocation’. This party was in fact for the wee girl, the 3yo (who turns four in two weeks) and another little girl. There was plenty of cake and the wee girl enjoyed her first taste of ice-cream cake. The rest of us were amused by the deliberate mistake in the party banner…

In my usual organised fashion (?!) I baked the wee girls cake on Saturday morning. Not being the most experienced of cake decorators, I had a variety of ‘frostings’ and sprinkles to hand…

We then went out for a lovely lunch before coming home to unwrap presents.

Then, after a well deserved nap (sadly not for me!), it was time for cake! Inspired by the lovely Susanne at ghostwritermummy I had decided to try a ‘cake smash’…

The wee girl wasn’t really sure what to make of this, and after trying to hand her the whole cake, pieces of the cake and just leaving her to it, she was still largely unimpressed with the idea! Turns out all we needed to do was hand her a fork!

So, happy birthday to my beautiful girl. With your easy smile, infectious giggle, diva tantrums, cute bum shuffle, disco moves, determined nature and love of ‘i’ devices – I am so very proud to be your mummy. Love you thiiiiiis much xxx
