I have realised that I now view long weekends slightly differently… They are not a long weekend, they are a short week! Only four days of early starts, school runs, activities and playdates!
The weather has been fab, and we spent loads of time outdoors – you can read about our fun week here.
Monday
Monday was a holiday for Memorial Day. It was a beautiful day and we went into Boston to the Children’s Museum. We had a lovely day, and we will definitely be going back to the museum.
Tuesday
Back to school! And I honestly can’t remember anything else about the day at all :)
Wednesday
The wee girl and I went to her music class in the morning and did a bit of shopping while we were out. It rained a lot in the morning, but stopped by the time the boys finished school. We spent the afternoon in the garden playing a horseshoe game.
Thursday
The temperature suddenly shot up today and by the afternoon we had hit 90F – fabulous, but really hot! I took the wee girl to the park before picking the boys up from school. I think she is coping with the heat better than I am!
Friday
The 4yo, wee girl and I did a bit of shopping in the morning, followed by a trip to Starbucks. It was another boiling hot day, so we headed home after this to cool down. We spent some time in the garden and had a picnic lunch before going to get the 6yo from school. The 6yo had a friend over for a sleepover which they all thoroughly enjoyed – they spent the afternoon in the garden with water pistols, played Skylanders before having pizza and then watched Harry Potter before going to sleep.
Saturday
The boys had swimming in the morning. I did a bit of shopping and then walked home in the sun – another lovely day! Hubby set up the sprinklers in the garden and the boys spent a lot of the afternoon running through the spray – and dragging their dad into it!
Sunday
We met friends for a picnic at the beach in Breakheart Reservation. It was beautiful today, gorgeously warm and the boys spent the entire time in the water! We had a lovely picnic and are now home and collapsed in the cool of our house.
Wow can’t believe it’s that warm there….all I remember about Boston was the ice!
Ah, you should read some of my winter posts – we had several feet of snow this year… I prefer this weather :) It’s seems to be a city of extremes when it comes to temperatures! Thanks for reading xx
