Three weeks have gone past without a ‘my week that was’ post…
I do these posts largely for myself – a diary of what we have done – not the big stuff, they get posts of their own, but the little things: classes, activities, play dates, coffee… I’ve always kept a diary of some sort, I like to look back at what I’ve done.
But they are always last on my list to write and often fall off the bottom of said list.
So, I’m going change things a little – write less, link more and use more photos…
Week 23: 3-9 June 2013
Monday
Swimming as usual, wee girl is getting so confident now!
Tuesday
Much needed quiet day! In the afternoon we did some mark making messy play.
Wednesday
Music class today – wee girl still loves it! After school, we all headed to a friend of 6yo’s for play date, was nice for the 4yo to get to join in – and for me to have a conversation with an adult :)
Thursday
It was the 6yo’s Field Day – otherwise known as sports day!
Friday
The 4yo and I had our usual Friday Starbucks breakfast and did a quick food shop – he really loves helping! In the afternoon he played in puddles… Unfortunately he was sick overnight, not much sleep for mummy and daddy!
Saturday
Boys had their swimming lessons in the morning, although 4yo wasn’t able to go as he’d been ill. I had coffee with a friend, the first time I’ve managed to have a coffee with someone since we moved, with no kids in tow, since we moved! Generally only manage to do that if I go on my own. It was lovely to have company :)
Sunday
We went geocaching for the first time! Wee girl finally decided that walking beat bum shuffling :)
Week 24: 10-16 June
Monday
Another enjoyable swimming lesson – last one for the summer. Looking forward to starting up again in September :) I had the honour of hosting the Shoulder to Shoulder to Day blog hop for the day.
Tuesday
Hubby sat his driving permit test (yes, we need to get Massachusetts licences…) – and passed! My turn soon…
Wednesday
I got a call 10 minutes before music class to say 6yo had been sick, could I come pick him up. It must have been something he ate as he was fully recovered an hour later! Play date after school for the 4yo, at our house. We made paper plate animals!
Thursday
Play date in the morning for the wee girl (and adult chat for me!). 4yo’s last day of term, so he had a party at school. I then had a nightmare afternoon, and an even worse evening, with the 4yo ending up in the ER.
Friday
Quiet day with a sick boy. We nipped out to get medicine in the morning, and of course just had to pop into Starbucks (clearly not that sick!). Messy play with shaving foam at bath time!
Saturday
We celebrated the 6 (soon to be 7)yo’s birthday with his friends at a bowling alley – great fun!
Sunday
We took a trip up into New Hampshire for Father’s Day, heading to Odiorne Point State Park and the Seacoast Science Center.
Week 25: 17-23 June
Monday
The (now) 7yo’s birthday! He headed off to school armed with his bag of classroom gifts! The 4yo, wee girl and I had a really yummy breakfast with a friend, followed by a bit of shopping and birthday cake baking. Hubby left work early and we had tea, cake and present opening in the afternoon :)
Tuesday
Wee girl had her 15mo check. Despite me asking 4yo to be quiet when doctor there, he not only spoke to him, he answered the doctors questions about the wee girl for me…! She now weighs 25lbs2oz and is 30″ long :)
Wednesday
I took 4yo to wee girls music class – he loved it! 7yo had a beach party (!) to celebrate the end of term.
Thursday
Last day of term for 7yo. He was a bit sad and actually agreed that he’d had a great year, result! And he got a great report card :) Proud mummy!
Friday
First day of holidays with all three children – we went to the park, to a cafe and did a bit of shopping. Filled the day quite well. Only ten weeks to go…!
Saturday
A quiet day. 7yo headed to a friends for the afternoon, a colleague of hubby came round for the afternoon and I managed to sit on the porch and enjoy the late afternoon sun :)
Sunday
Another quiet day. 31C so headed to the pool in the afternoon to cool off! The heat is killing my poor, fair skinned, Scottish kids :) I let daddy loose with the sun cream… Hmm?!
