Hey baby!

When you think of the first song your child learnt to sing, I expect you remember a cute rendition of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star or Baa Baa Black Sheep?

Well, our wee girl has gone for something a little different!

My husband loves to teach the kids ‘tricks’.

One of his most successful so far with the wee girl has been teaching her to sing her first song.

Not for her a Twinkle Twinkle or a Baa Baa. No, her song of choice when she’s going down for a nap, or when she wakes up in the morning is Hey Baby…

Heyyy, he-ya bay-bee!
Ooo, ah!
Ah wanna knaaaaaw i-yaaall be ma girl!

[Hey, hey baby! I want to know if you’ll be my girl…]

I see a name in lights in our future…

  1. That must be so cute and unexpected!

Incidentally Daughter #1 was a late speaker and learned to sing first! (It was Baa baa black sheep)

    1. We do get some funny looks when she launches into it in the supermarket… :)

How interesting that she sang first – although I think there is something about pattern and rhythm that make songs easier in a lot of ways.

  2. Wicked World of Lucas

Love this so much – Lucas is currently loving anything by Katy Perry (that sexy lady mummy) and the song about them crashing a car but they don’t care!!! This is the future – forget mursery rhymes – great post. Have a fab Christmas x #funee
