The lovely, and very funny, Blue Beret Mum nominated me for the Blog Your Heart Out Award – weeks ago! So, huge apologies, but I got there in the end!
The rules are simple, answer these five questions and nominate five lovely bloggers :)
1. What/Who encouraged you to start blogging?
My blog started as a journal to record the time that we spend in the US – essentially a diary of our time here that would also keep our friends and family at home up to date on our adventures (it was preferable to writing emails all day!). It has since become a lot more than that – I have been inspired by the blogging community to write more, record more – looking back as well as simply recording the present – and to think about the future. I have discovered a love for writing, and I am slowly finding my voice.
2. How did you choose what topics to blog about?
I write about anything and everything! I blog about my family: our outings and adventures; crafts and baking with the kids (and by myself!); my thoughts on parenting and children; the changes in my life going from a working mum to to stay at home mom! I also write about the challenges, frustrations and opportunities that relocating overseas brings – the sometimes funny, sometimes stressful moments that fill out lives here in the US.
3. What is something most people don’t know about you?
I suspect that few bloggers know that I am a Chartered Engineer and Project Manager! It’s not something that has found it’s way into my blogging yet, but who knows…!
4. What 3 words describe your style?
Friendly, creative, organised.
5. What do you like to do when you are not blogging?
Have adventures with my husband and kids; read, although I’m generally so tired by the time I pick up a book that I fall asleep; have a glass of wine with friends; watch box sets with hubby; drink tea and eat cake!
