Play:
I watch you in your kitchen; I watch you make me tea.
You scoosh the water, fill the cup, then find a biscuit too.
I watch you soothe your baby, change her nappy, give her juice.
You shush, you smile, nap now…morning! and take her for a walk.
I watch you with your books; I watch your clear delight.
You find the mouse, the buzzy bees, the rabbits and princesses.
I hear you laugh; I hear you sing.
I see you learn; I see you grow.
Play:
I watch you grab your Lego; I watch you build a plane.
You find the pieces, design comes first: colour, pattern, symmetry.
I watch you build a track, zoom your cars: further, higher, faster.
You race, you vroom! You modify; you experiment; you win!
I watch you with your beyblades; I watch you swap the pieces.
You find the fastest, strongest, best; you train them, then you battle!
I hear you laugh; I hear you squeal.
I see you learn; I see you grow.
Play:
I watch you read your books; I watch your excitement grow.
You read, you imagine, you explain: …and then this happened…
I watch you do a project; I watch you do some art.
You find your materials, you work so hard; you’re proud of your creations.
I watch you play your games; I watch your skills increase.
You analyse: tactics, dangers, goals. You solve, you build, you win.
I hear you laugh; I hear you shout.
I see you learn; I see you grow.
Fun:
Blowing bubbles; squirting water.
Racing cars; battling beyblades.
Building models; painting pictures.
Reading books; singing songs.
Dancing, jumping, twirling.
Laughter, joy; learning experiences.
Independent play; imaginative play.
Ball games, counting games, word games.
Board games, family games, computer games and more.
Fun!

Love this :) Is that a ‘play’ verse for each child? And I enjoyed your fun list, too – plenty of inspiration there. Thanks for joining in with #TheThemeGame x
