It had to happen eventually! This week my word is snowy!
I’m choosing to use it this week in an optimistic, this has to be the last of it (I know it’s not), hopeful way!
After being lulled into a false sense of security by a balmy weekend where the temperatures actually made it above zero, we were hit by snow on Monday. It started late morning and snowed until evening. It was light, sparkly snow and left us with an inch or so. It covered the trees beautifully; in a winter scene, chocolate box kind of a way.
The following day was beautiful, a perfect winters day: blue skies, crisp but not cold, a beautiful covering of snow that the wee girl and I were able to play in with two of her friends; whizzing on a sled and building a snowman.
But, another storm was on it’s way.
The snow started again early Wednesday morning and within a couple of hours a blanket, several inches deep, covered everything. It continued to snow all day, finally stopping early evening. By then it was about ten inches deep.
A snow day for us; schools closed, neighbourhood out shovelling pavements, kids (and mummy) going slightly nuts being cooped up again!
I really hope this is the last time I want to use this word :)

What a beautiful picture! We are craving snow here in the south so I’m a little jealous! X
It is Beautiful, but it’s been like this since before Christmas, I think we’ve had enough snow now :) If I could send you some I would!
Oh Sara I can sense your frustration, so it probably wouldn’t help to say how beautiful it looks??! But, um, it does look beautiful. I hope you manage to escape and get some air and space…maybe you’ll miss it when its gone??! xx

I love snow but I do remember the feeling of having too much at times. Hope you can still enjoy it and I do hope for you it will be the last for the year!xx
It is lovely, and the kids love it, but I’m just about done with fighting with it on the school run :)

It looks so beautiful, and when there’s this much of it, it’s quite impressive – but doing the school run in it? Not fun!
Your snow pictures have been amazing but I’m with you on the whole being cooped up with kids thing! I remember when JJ was a colicky baby and we got snowed in. They cancelled the baby groups. I was so depressed!! #WotW X
I know, even if you don’t have any plans, just knowing that you can’t go out is awful!
I feel your pain hun, where we now live in Shropshire was hit by horrendous snow last year (at the time we lived in Lancashire) and I fear a repeat of conditions this year. My in law’s spent 4 days snowed in their houses it was awful for them. I really dont like snow at all :-/
It looks so pretty, but it can be so disruptive. I won’t be sad to see it go this year :)
