Word of the Week: Jet lag

Last Updated on

Exhausted comes a close second this week, but the jet lag is the nail in the coffin!

We flew back from the UK on Tuesday, arriving into Boston at 4pm in afternoon, except in our heads it was really 9pm. We got home, put the kids in bed, lasted about half an hour and fell asleep at 7.30pm (12.30am!).

Sadly, this meant that I woke at 1.30am, and the wee girl woke at 5am.

Wednesday night I made it to 3.30am, but the wee girl was up at 5am again, the boys followed at about 5.30am! Thursday was a very long day.

So yes, I am exhausted after our wonderful, fun, busy trip. But, it’s the jet lag that’s finishing me off :)

Oh no! I forgot there’d be that to contend with, too! Hope you’re all back to normal soon x Thanks for sharing with #WotW

    1. They’ve just about caught up on themselves now! The oldest has been quite sensible about going to bed when he needed to, which was a relief :)

  2. Hope you catch up on your rest soon. We haven’t dared travel far since we had kids (we did take J to Canada and USA when he was 9 months old but he had no routine no it didn’t really matter than day and night was in a muddle we just carried on through it!). Have a good weekend. x

    1. We’ve done a fair bit of transatlantic with all three. This trip is probably the worst the jet lag has been though, it was pretty bad going the other way too :)
