Word of the Week: Dazed

dazed

I got back home on Monday night; 1.30am in my head, 8.30pm local. I had been travelling for 20 hours. I went straight to bed.

I slept, but woke feeling a little dazed. And, I have felt that way ever since.

I had a wonderful time at home, but it was pretty full on. BritMums was amazing; being at home with my mum was wonderful; going to the most amazing wedding on Saturday was a fantastic way to end my trip.

But, I also packed up our old house; leaving me with little time for other things.

I had hoped to have a bit of a break while I was away, come back feeling refreshed, but in all honesty I’ve come back exhausted and feeling a bit meh.

I haven’t written anything all week. My head is all over the place; incapable of processing and recording the events of last week. I have sat in front of a blank screen getting frustrated.

So, I have (largely) taken this week off. I hope that the weekend will bring with it some perspective; that I will be able to write about last week, remember all the good bits, work through the emotional bits and start to really look forward to our new house and all the exciting work we need to do!

  1. No wonder you are struggling to go back to reality and your routine after such an intense trip: BritMums, packing up your old home, spending time away from your children, a great wedding… just listing all of this leaves me exhausted. Overstimulation does that to you… and maybe you needed a little break from blogging. Welcome back! x

    1. Thank you Mel, I think you’re right. I’m going to be focussing on the summer holidays and the new house over the next couple of months and I will continue to take things a little easier on the blogging front! But, I certainly won’t be disappearing completely :)

  2. Sounds like a really full on week Sara,no wonder you’re exhausted! Don’t be so hard on yourself, I’m sure you’llbe writing again in no time! Hugs xx #WotW

  3. I’m not surprised you’re feeling dazed, Sara, as so much has happened in such a short space of time, along with the travelling times and exhaustion. Take time out to get your head around it again, and I hope you’re feeling less ‘meh’ soon xx Thanks for sharing with #WotW

  4. I think everyone deserves a bit of post-‘meh’ break, and sounds like you definitely need some time off after all that last week.
Hope you feel refreshed and ready to get back into things soon.

  5. You have been seriously busy and doing a lot. It’s gutting that you haven’t had any real rest while you were away and hopefully taking this week off blogging has helped you get everything back in order. I know I get like that when I have a super busy week. Big hugs #wotw

    1. Thanks Nikki, it was a bit full on really, and I wish I’d managed to get a bit more of a rest! Feeling much better now though :)

  6. I have to admit that you are a bit quiet and now I know why. Hope that next week you will be back to normal. I am a bit out of it too. Doing my friday commenting on a Sunday/Monday. I wish I can keep up with all the things thats happening but things are really busy and tiring! Okay I am mumbling non sense now. I just glad to see your post again =) #wotw
