While it would have been nice to escape from packing after my trip to Edinburgh, we do of course now have our current house to pack up, so that we can actually move into our new home!
Everywhere I look at the moment there are boxes.
Empty, half full, sealed and ready to go.
Clutter removed. No time to linger over memory boxes and keep sakes, all must be packed. Toys rediscovered. A lost spoon found!
Rooms tidied and cleaned. Trip after trip to deposit boxes in the new house.
Tracking boxes, a container on its way; transported through the UK to port, now on a boat crossing the Atlantic.
Boxes on my mind at all times!
This house is gradually looking ready to show to prospective buyers and we are aiming towards an Open House in a weeks time.
We will be living in the new house – or at least camping until we can move some furniture, after the Open House! – from the middle of next week.
So, while I know that in a few weeks time I will never want to see another box, right now these boxes, those I can see and those that I am tracking, are exciting because they signify change and opportunity. They mean that we will soon be settled, with all our belongings in one place, in our new home.
Right now, I love these boxes :)
What word of the week would you choose to sum up your week?

Wow well done on getting it all sorted – it sounds like you did it pretty smoothly. Hope the Open House goes well and you find buyers quickly!
Thank you Tas, we’re doing the cosmetic clear out at the moment, ‘show homing’ the place :) But, it’s going remarkably smoothly so far, famous last words! Touch wood, properties in our town are selling quickly at the moment…!
How familiar that sight is to us expats! Good luck with everything, hope the move goes really well! xx
It really is, I’m getting quite used to it now :) Thank you xx
Exciting times – good luck with it all. I found the preparing to move and initial unpacking stage of boxes exciting too. Hope you get all settled quickly into your new house x
Thank you Louise, it is getting quite exciting now :)
I hope it all goes well for you. Brings back memories! When we decluttered our home it almost made us tempted to stay!!
Thank you :) I know what you mean about the decluttering, the place is looking great!
It sounds like you’ve been busy! A very exciting time for you! Good luck x
Thanks Kim, it is exciting :)
Oh Sara, wow you’re all packed and ready… there’s something quite satisfying about de-cluttering. Not long to go! Good luck with the move and hope you settle in quickly. #wotw
There really is, the place hasn’t looked so tidy since we moved in :)
Ooh it’s a bit like series two of Topsy and Tim, following your moving story (way more boxes in yours though :-) ) Hope everything finds it’s place very soon! X
Lol, you never think you have that many boxes until you actually try and pack :)
ohh I hate packing and moving……. filled and sealed boxes are a good sign though :) #WotW
I’m losing the enthusiasm now, but we’re getting there! Lots of boxes have left :)
How exciting. I dream of packing up and moving. Doubt I’ll be as organised as you are when the time comes mind.
Oh, I’m not sure I was that organised, but it wasn’t too bad :)
Oh, it is all about boxes, isn’t it?! And I can imagine how exciting they are, too! Hope it’s all progressing well x Thanks for sharing with #WotW
Thanks Jocelyn, it’s going really well, in fact I’m about to spend my first night in the new house :)
