Do you believe in magic? Where do you find it; in smiles and laughter and joy? Do you believe that simple moments can be magical; or do you look for the extraordinary? Is magic simply there, or is it something that we create?
The special in the mundane,
The exciting in the normal,
The immense in the every day,
The wow in the routine.
We have played a little game with each of our children. Blowing at the car window, and saying down window or up window, will open or close it. Magically. A trick, a spell; amazing.
Such a simple thing and yet each of our children have believed, completely and utterly, that they are controlling that window. That their wish, their belief, their blowing works. They have loved it. A little bit of magic in their day. And, a little bit of magic in ours, as we listen to the giggles and squeals of pleasure as the window moves.
Then, as the boys each grew out of the trick; learnt of buttons and electric windows and child locks; they passed the magic on to their younger sibling. The magic, for them, continuing in the satisfaction of creating a moment of magic for another.
Now, the wee girl will pipe up Down window! Whooo! and laugh as it opens.
I believe in magic. I believe that there is magic to be found in our lives, if we just take the time to look for it, if we allow it in.
I believe that there are moments of big, unexplainable, fantastical magic; those moments that defy logic and reason and sense.
But, I also believe that there is magic to be created; that making someone laugh is magical, that making someone happy is magical and that giving our children a wow moment in their day is magical.

Fab post hon and so true! It’s up to each of us as parents to inject a little magic into our kids’ lives. I’m constantly amazed, like you said, how the simplest things are the biggest wins with my kids xx

I think your right. Magic can be found in everyday special little things. We look alot at nature, how spiders webs are so strong against the wind, creatures who have amazing lights on their heads to survive in the deep oceans. My daughter loves finding wierd and wonderful things in nature and explaining them as her own special type of Mother Natures magic!
Absolutely, nature is full of magic, and seeing children discover those things is fabulous x
