Word of the Week: Talking

talking

Anyone who knows me well knows that I like to talk. A lot. And, this week, I have done a lot of talking!

We have had a wonderful week. We have missed having a house full of people; it was something that we did often in the UK and haven’t had the opportunity to do here yet. We were always the hosts and although we have had the odd party since we moved to the US, it hasn’t been quite the same.

The last two weeks have been chaotic, fun, occasionally fraught, but mainly just really special; full of laughter, memory making and chat.

At the peak we have had seven adults and seven children in the house.

I have watched the cousins chattering away; getting on brilliantly, cementing relationships that will hopefully last throughout their lives. They have absolutely loved spending time together and the gales of laughter coming from the bedroom (dormitory!) where they have all insisted on camping together, has been wonderful for all the parents to hear. Although, the silence of sleeping children may have been preferable on occasion :)

As for me, well, I have talked and talked! It’s been too long since I’ve seen both my sister and my cousin, and their families; and my mother joining us has been an added bonus.

Lots to catch up on, lots of stories to tell.

It is a joy to me to be able to pick up where I left off with close friends, and the past two weeks have been amazing. So much fun, so much laughter. Lots and lots of talking.

Next week is going to seem very quiet. I’m just glad that my mother will be sticking around for awhile :)

How has your week been, what would your word of the week be?

  3. Greta word! It sounds like you’ve had the best time, all together again. And yes, it;’ll be quiet, but you’ll have your mum, and a fortnight packed with happy memories to look back on :) Thanks for sharing with #WotW x

  4. Great word and although we all talk sometimes it’s only after having proper conversations that we realise its importance to us – enjoy!

  6. What a great word to think about. We’ve had a busy house with people and chatting up as I have had some time off work. My daughter has had lots of friends over and I always enjoying hearing the chatting and giggles coming from her bedroom when they’re playing.
