Word of the Week: Strep

strep

Well, what can I say? This week has been dominated by strep throat (throat infection to us UK people). All three kids, at the same time, have strep.

That’s been fun… although to be fair, only the 8yo has really been suffering. And, he was miserable, really miserable. The other two seem to have escaped relatively symptom free.

I felt so awful for the 8yo though, he had every symptom going; from sore throat to tiredness to fever to vomiting. He didn’t eat for a full two days. Isn’t it just the worst thing, to see your child suffer? I don’t think he’s ever been ill for so long before and it was horrible to watch. I would have done anything to make him feel better.

But, what with trips to the doctor, days off school, tired and grumpy (and bored) children and a fridge full of antibiotics; I have to say, it’s been a long week.

Here’s to an illness free week next week…

How has your week been, what would your word of the week be?

  1. That is a lot of antibiotics! I hope your 8yo feels better soon. There is nothing worse than seeing your children suffer. X #WotW

Oh Sara I’m sorry to hear that! It’s so horrid when the little people are poorly, especially all three at the same time. Hope they’re all feeling much better soon and that next week’s word is all about fun x

  4. Oh Sara, I so feel for you. It’s not easy watching any of your children be poorly and it’s so draining on you too…but three at the same time?! Oh, here’s to you all getting better soon xx

  5. Not only is the summer long over, but with the children back at school those nasty illnesses start doing the rounds.

Strep throat isn’t nice and I do hope that you get by the rest of the winter relatively illness free.

    Found your post on #WotW.
