I’m fighting a losing battle with plaster dust! It is everywhere. On every floor and every surface.
And while I am very happy with the reason that it is there, and thrilled with the new wiring and lighting resulting from its generation.
I am done with the dust.
My husband has been away this week and arrives back tomorrow; with his parents. They’ve seen us in a messy, toy covered house before, I can live with that. But, the dirt!
I sweep, it disappears into the air and settles again five minutes later.
I mop and it disappears in the water, to reappear as if by magic when the floor dries.
I dust and it just moves to the next available surface.
I’m slowly working my way round, room by room, and it is looking better. Then I sit down and the light shifts and spotlights a corner that I’ve missed!
But, I just have to look at the new lights, or flick a light switch that actually works, and the dust is forgotten.
Until the glow from one of those new light highlights the swirls of dust created as I move through the room…!
How has your week been, what would your word of the week be?

Oh Sara, i feel your pain! The dust is still settling in our house, and it drives me bonkers- particularly when it gathers on the wooden floors! I’m sure you are just so glad to be making progress though. It is such a beautiful house xxx
Thank you Emma, I suspect I’ll be doing battle for a long time to come!
Ooh I can imagine that must be driving you mad. Glad the work on the house is progressing though and that you have light x
It’s definitely wonderful to have light, except that it makes the dust more obvious ;)
Oh no….It must be driving you mad!! I hope you get it cleared soon x
I suspect it will take me awhile to be completely dust free!
Oh no, so annoying! And probably seemingly endless right now, too! I hope it goes soon and you have a lovely time with your in-laws x Thanks for sharing with #WotW
Thanks Jocelyn, getting there, slowly!
Urgh! Hate plaster dust! When we had our bathroom done I was so surprised by the amount of dust everywhere and on everything. It really isn’t that easy to get rid of either is it?! Hope the in-laws are understanding (I’m sure they’ll appreciate the lights :-) ) X #wotw
It just gets everywhere doesn’t it?!
I can imagine all that dust is a nightmare – and it does get absolutely everywhere! But it will all be worth it when it is complete. xxx #WotW
It really does, and every time I think I’ve finished a room I spot a bit I’ve missed!
Feeling your pain with the dust – I’m not sure it’s any comfort but it does go eventually, it just feels like it never will x
I’ll probably get rid of it just in time for the next bit of work, and then I can start all over again!
