As we left the house to go to school yesterday the wee girl demanded that I take a photo. Perhaps my insistence on first day of school photos has had more of an impact than I imagined, or perhaps she just loves having her photo taken. Whatever the reason, we duly stopped and had an impromptu photo shoot.
The usual comedy ensued and we left for school with a set of entertaining images.
We also left for school with a photograph of the three, all ready for their day of school. Together.
Even after a week of all three being in school, I am still struggling to get my head around this change in our dynamic.
We had such a wonderful summer, our best yet, and I was sad to see it end. We had a great time ticking things off our summer bucket list, and I could almost see the kids growing in front of my eyes. They have all shot up and seeing them standing together, all ready for school, makes me realise just how much they are growing up.
And, it’s really exciting to watch.
As a threesome they still have an amazing ability to wind each other up; that’s what siblings do! But, for each ear splitting, bickering, annoying moment there are moments like this one. Where the wee girl suddenly grabs her brothers, despite their very loud protests. (To be fair, they had both just taken a huge bite of doughnut…).
Grabs them because she wants to give her boys a hug.
Despite their protests, they love it, and so do I.
The three are growing up. They continue to amaze, amuse and drive me nuts by equal measure.
But I hope that never stops.

They are all looking so grown up! Lovely, fun photos, and so sweet that they were at the wee girl’s insistence x
I know, it’s a bit scary, they are growing so fast!
So cute Sara! Especially those last shots of her cuddling her boys. They clearly have such a lovely relationship and wow they are all growing up, all 3 in school!! Xx
They really do, most of the time :) And, I can’t believe I have three in school!
Sara these photos are just adorable, it is lovely when you get the moments of peace isn’t it ? xx
Thank you Sarah, and yes, it really is :)
Oh what gorgeous photos of all three – I love the rainy morning photoshoot, and what a change this year, it must be very quiet without them!
It is very quiet, although I am getting used to it :)
So cute, I am imaging your boys doing that big brother “too cool” thing but you can tell they love their little sister to bits :)
Yeah, they do that, but secretly they love it when she gives them hugs :)
How adorable! I love that she has her boys with her what a lovely bond. Also love the morning school run – rain makes them typical.
The bond is wonderful, even when they are really annoying each other :)
Ahhh so lovely Sara!! Love the backpack photos, will be so interesting to see those change year on year depending on what’s popular at the time!!
The pictures of your little lady grabbing her brothers for a kiss are so unbelievably gorgeous, you’ve captured a really lovely moment there!!
It was such a beautifully spontaneous moment, I’m so glad I thought to snap a few photos :)
What a gorgeous set of photos Sara! So lovely to see them all happy together. X #sharewithme
Thank you Sam, it was nice that I had completely spontaneous photos this month :)
What cute photos – adorable #sharewithme
Thank you x
What a gorgeous little threesome. I hope they’ve all loved their first week at school together x#mycapturedmoment
They have all enjoyed getting back to (and starting!) school :)
Beautiful photos Sara and how bittersweet it must be to see the three of them going off to school together. Love the photos of the wee girl giving her brothers a big hug – really captures sibling love at its best :-)
Thank you Louise, it’s strange to see them all heading off x
Look at those three!! So sweet. Isn’t it wonderful be able to capture images of them showing that they love each other? Truly. my three are each others’ best friends and by the look of things, yours might be too!
#mycapturedmoment
My three may be experts at winding each other up, but they really do adore each other :)
Lovely photos. I think they capture what it is to be a sibling so well; it’s that kind of grudging but at the same time inherent love they have for each other. My brother was my favourite when I was little but at the same time I would do anything I could to get one over on him or get him into trouble. I don’t think any friendship or bond can be quite the same as the sibling relationship. x
#mycapturedmoment
You are absolutely right, I was like that with my sister :)
Such lovely photos. Siblings always have such interesting relationships. They love and hate each other in equal measure. I have two older brothers and I loved posing in photos with them when I was a little girl. It drove them mad but I adored them. It is important to treasure these moments. And I am so glad that the first week went well. It is always hard getting back to normal after having a lovely long break. Hugs Mrs H xxxx #MyCapturedMoment
Thank you. And you are absolutely right about sibling relationships, but these moments really are the ones to treasure x
How sweet. I love the candid shots of her giving her brothers a big hug. Lovely photos! #mycapturedmoment
Oh I love the cuddly photos! F loves giving her big bro hugs too whether he wants them or not! They really are looking so grown up aren’t they.
Great post! It put a smile on me. I love your portraits too, very humorous indeed. I think your little girl will be running the house from now on! lol! x #MyCapturedMoment
Your wee Girl is so adorable and always looks right in the thick of things with her brothers! #MagicMoments
They are really growing up so fast Sara I can’t believe it. They look so grown up here from last month! Sounds like a great bond between the trio too. Thank you so much for linking up to Share With Me #sharewithme
The wee girl looks like she just adores her two big brothers. Bless her for wanting to take pictures on the way to school, she obviously thinks it’s all part and parcel of a daily routine now. Great pictures to keep and add to the album. Thank you so much for linking up to #MyCapturedMoment xxx
