The Prompt: Possibility

The Prompt 90: Possibility

A day dawns
full of promise.
Bright,
as an idea forms.
Capturing threads
chanced upon in a dream.

A morning passes
full of potential.
Clear,
as an idea grows.
Tying knots
and holding belief in place.

An afternoon endures
full of opportunity.
Shining,
as an idea builds.
Weaving together
the prospect of adventure.

An evening advances
full of probability.
Vivid,
as an idea lives.
Braiding strands
in a pattern of challenge and risk.

A night closes
full of hope.
Brilliant,
as an idea flies.
Binding luck
into the fabric of experience

A day ends
full of possibility.
Luminous,
as an idea flourishes.
Loosening threads
and giving power to the dream.

  1. I do love the endless possibilities of a new day, it’s so wonderful to wake up thinking ‘I’m going to make sure that today is amazing’! Hope you have a fab one lovely xx

  2. As your prompt was inspired by a poet it is very apt to have chosen poetry this week Sara. And possibility is definitely all those things: promise, potential, opportunity, probability and hope. It was nice to be prompted to write something really positive! :-)

  3. I love how you took the readers to the progression of the day mirroring the progression of an idea. It’s so clever and as always, so beautiful. Hope you’ve enjoyed your weekend. Thank you for hosting us on the Prompt this week!

  4. I love how you’re taken your prompt to look at the endless possibilities open to you in a day, which was reflected in the flow of the poem. I’ve said it before, I think your poems are pm clever and flow beautifully. Really well written xx

  5. I love the positivity you capture here. I just wish I could bottle your words and release them into my day! Thanks for sharing. Lovely mantra for Monday morning x
