The Prompt: Red

The Prompt 128: Red

In a moment of anger,
through a haze of scarlet,
I see destruction born
of fire and obsession and blood
and I feel remorse.

In a moment of strength,
through a cloud of crimson,
I see power born
of fear and courage and loss
and I feel humbled.

In a moment of excitement,
through a veil of rose,
I see romance born
of heat and excitement and love
and I feel brave.

  1. Poem captures Red in its core. Our lives are painted with different shades of red, making us feel the whole pallete of emotions as you wrote.

  2. I love this. I love how you move through different emotions in just three verses and I love the structure of the poem. Your poems are always amazing! #Prose4T

  3. A genius way to illustrate the different emotions (and consequences) that red can make us feel. Very cleverly written. Genius in fact Sara! Thanks for hosting #prose4t :)

  4. Red is such an emotive colour and I think you’ve captured many shades of feeling here. I love the structure and the depth of feeling conveyed.
