We had a long Thanksgiving weekend and we made the most of the wintery sunshine. One of our walks took us around the Tufts University Campus in Medford. With panoramic views across the Boston skyline, the campus was beautiful, if chilly! Gorgeous trees between interesting hard landscaping and sculptures, it was a lovely addition to our weekend.
Walking around our garden, the most notable thing to see is what happens when you don’t throw away your Fall porch decorations quickly enough – the squirrels have a field day :)
But, our Amaryllis is doing very well!

The pumpkins were kind of cool, and thankfully frozen solid when I went to clean them up!
Look at that Amarylis go! Your photos of the naked trees still look wonderful with that lovely blue sky. The squirrels have clearly had a field day with the pumpkin :)

all the trees already bare… i do love how certain light hits bare trees. like a winter sunset. so beautiful. and soon snow will come….

Loving that peeling bark – I would stand picking it off all day just like I do when I spy a bit of loose wallpaper somewhere (I’m a nightmare aren’t I?!)

The bark is fab, isn’t it? Those trees are everywhere, and I do have to resist the temptation to go and peel bark :)
The pumpkins made me smile, glad the squirrels had a good meal before I threw them away!

It’s quite impressive isn’t it – they enjoyed quite a feast :) It is possible that a raccoon started it off for them…!
The Amaryllis is doing well, hoping it might flower for Christmas…
Pumpkin guts! I always have to beg my husband to pick up the moldy nasty pumpkin and toss it for me. The top photos look like a gorgeous day – and cold!
It was very old when we were at Tufts, but so crisp and clear, it was lovely! Thankfully the pumpkins were frozen when I went to clear them up, so not too bad a job :)
