Word of the Week: Special

There are quite a few words I could use to describe this week: family, together, quiet, chilled, chilly, snowy!

It’s been a week of relaxed family time, a proper break from our usual day to day. With the boys and hubby on holiday, my mum staying, the busyness of Christmas behind us and no return to school due to snow; it’s been time for a rest and to just spend time together.

An unexpected, and very welcome, week of watching the kids play with Granny, of having chats and playing games; of watching the snow fall together and watching the kids play in it; of hearing the wee girl shout either ganny or dally (Granny) depending on her mood; of hearing her ask Granny for a huc (hug); of seeing the boys snuggle up to Granny on the sofa, or fight over who gets to sit next to her at the table; a week of listening to giggling.

So, my word of the week is: special.

I’m linking up with the wonderful Jocelyn at The Reading Residence for the first week of her new linky Word of the Week. Good luck Jocelyn!

Great choice, though I’d expected ‘snowy’, of course! It does sounds like you’ve had a really special week over there, particularly with you mum’s surprise visit. Thanks for your good luck wishes, and for joining in :-) #WotW x

  2. I’ll say it again, very jealous of your snow. Great idea for a link as well. Good to hear your having a nice time with mum over to.

  3. Aww lovely post. I’ve been missing my Grannie a lot over the holidays and your post actually made me cry. Beautiful memory making x
