On Saturday night, at about 9.30pm, I got an email from Amazon congratulating me on posting my first book review.
Hmm, that’s interesting, I thought… I haven’t written a review for Amazon.
I turned to my husband and joked ‘looks like the 7yo has been reviewing books from his Kindle…’
Ha ha.
But, it turns out that he had!

And, here is the screen shot from Amazon…

Sadly, he didn’t fall asleep.
If he’d fallen asleep, he wouldn’t have written the review.
Bringing up Bebe is a parenting book (that I read for a Book Club), so it is unlikely to interest a 7yo. [I thought it was a fairly good, if not especially original, read and will be reviewing it in my next #50Books2013 round up!]. But even so, his review was a little harsh!
He knows that the books in the Cloud are mine (easiest way to register a kids Kindle is via an existing account…) and will be ‘boring’, and that he needs to stick to the books on the Device…
He has been given a stern talking to, and he was genuinely surprised to discover that it was now on t’internet for all (including the author!) to see.
But, I can’t help but be impressed by his typing, his understanding of the ‘review’ process and instructions – he even gave his review a title – and the fact that he managed to publish it!
I could edit it (I can’t find an option to delete it!), and I did start to.
I couldn’t bring myself to do it!
I will, at the very least, point out it was left by a child though :)

This is hilarious!! What a cheeky so and so :)
I know, isn’t he? Got to watch him like a hawk! He’s currently writing a review of a book he likes…but he’s under strict instructions not to publish it until I’ve read it :)
hahaha!! That’s so funny!! What a cheeky little one…hehehe
And too clever by half! But, he gets points for initiative :)
Ahaha that’s fabulous! I don’t know if I’d be able to pull the cross parent role if one of mine had done that, I’d probably roll around laughing. What a clever little guy – funny too!
It was tricky! I wanted to be so cross, but it was too funny – and he is a clever wee so and so :)
OMG that’s hilarious!! It is a real worry that these kids are so savvy about the Internet though isn’t it?
It is, isn’t it? We have some very strict rules, but hadn’t thought to ban book reviews…!
Oh this is so funny!! What a wonderful cheeky chap he is! And so clever too – in many ways you must be very proud :)) Love it xx
It was a difficult balance – being suitably cross while being quite proud of the achievement!
brilliant!! at least its not harmful. friend of mine, her little boy managed to spend thousands of pounds on itunes!! eep!
Exactly! We had disabled all purchasing ability on it, but left the wifi enabled, with ‘rules’… They always find something though, don’t they?!
Ah that is fantastic! :) I too think it’s very clever how he understood the review process and everything to get it there.
Thank you – he certainly has no problems reading/writing/spelling when there’s a ‘device’ involved! If only he was as keen on his homework :)
That’s hilarious and incredible he knew what to do. Such a different age now isn’t it. POD thinks Peppa Pig lives in my iPad :)
Yeah, he’s seven going on seventeen!
LOL
Indeed! Thank you :)
that is just hilarious! x
Thanks!
Oh my god that’s so my winner this week! What a star!
Thank you! He’s quite special :)
Haha, how funny!! Not so had it been my own child! ;-)
Ha, I did have an initial moment of mortification!
Hehe that is really clever and very very funny :)
Thank you – he does like to keep us on our toes :)
Brilliant!
Thanks!
hahaha Sara this is fantastic, your boy will go far in life. Maybe you should let him loose on the pink lady bic pens reviews on Amazon, he’d have a field day with those ones :)
He he! He has actually written a sensible one now, for one of his books, as he’s realised that people might actually read them!
