Siblings: April 2016

The past month has been a busy one. Two birthdays, in quick succession, makes for an exciting time!

The wee girl turned four, and I now have a seven year old too.

So, I have to admit, it’s all been a bit of a blur!

The wee girl has taken her birthday as a cue to be an even bigger girl and keeps announcing that she can do this now I’m four! The seven year old continues to take everything in his stride.

They three have been muddling along, as they do. Playing and bickering in equal measure.

The weather has been a little mixed (snow in April, anyone?!), so we’ve had too much time cooped up inside. Proper spring cannot come soon enough. We’re all very glad that today sees the start of our April vacation.

It seems almost strange that a month that holds two birthdays can hold so little change in the dynamic of the three. But, a birthday is only a day, albeit an exciting one, and life goes on around it.

They seem to have settled into a good place my three, one that seems to suit them all. I wonder when the next shift will happen!

[P.S. The 9yo fell awkwardly a few days ago, we thought his wrist might be fractured, but thankfully it’s just a bad sprain and isn’t bothering him too much. Even if he struggles to put his own shoes and socks on!]

  1. Aah they are such beautiful kids!!! Your seven year old looks like a right cheeky monkey!!! I love all the expressions he’s pulling on this set of photos!! Gorgeous Sara! :) And yes — I’m with you — proper spring can’t come soon enough! We keep seeing glimpses of it in the UK but nothing of any note yet! I wish it would hurry up and join the party!! #SiblingsProject

Thank you Caro! My 7yo is a cheeky monkey, and every time I take photos of the three this happens! Love it :)

Super cute. Thankfully the little fella’s arm wasn’t broken, is he in much pain with it? I can’t wait for the warm weather too, we ha d droplets of snow here in Dublin also. Bring on summer!

Thank you. Thankfully the 9yos arm doesn’t seem to have bothered him too much, painkillers the first couple days but nothing after that x

  3. Oh gosh. Glad the it’s only a sprain. Poor thing. 2 birthdays in a month must have been busy. I bet my daughter will be saying the same when she’s 4 lol. Lovely pics of them x

  4. Ah bless hime, Jack sprained his angle recently and it caused him so much pain. I hope he is ok, I love your photos, its great how one minute they are bickering and one minute they are playing. Out two are exactly the same x
