The theme from Tara for The Gallery this week is: Food.
I’ve never thought of myself as a cook. And, I certainly never baked. My sister is the instinctive cook; the fabulous, make everything from scratch baker. Me… not so much. And, I still cheat :)
But I have discovered that, actually, I do love to bake and more specifically, decorate. So now, any holiday or celebration is accompanied by themed baking. If I’m not decorating cupcakes or biscuits, the kids are.
My latest thing is baking breads for the kids lunchboxes – now that is certainly not something I ever thought I’d find myself doing! The boys love it though (and the 4yo loves to help) and that makes it all worthwhile.
It’s a lot of fun, and I’m already starting to think about how I might decorate the kids birthday cakes this year…

Cheating is cool and your bakes look really pretty. Think it satisfies the creative urge even if it isn’t always exactly textbook!

I don’t “do” baking, however I do “do” baking bread, which I LOVE! Maybe it’s time for me to move from bread to cakes and biscuits too….
