It may be the first day of Spring, but I have to admit, it’s still not feeling much like it! The words that spring (sorry!) to mind are:
Dull… Brown… Soggy… Hibernation…
My garden is water logged from snow melt, there is still some snow on the ground and hedges and bushes still have no signs of new shoots.
But, if you look really closely at the trees, tiny buds are starting to appear; new life is appearing and perhaps Spring is finally on the way.
Before we know it, it will be April, and I can’t help feeling that I’m going to wake up one morning to a mass of colour, Spring having decided that if it doesn’t get its act together its going to miss out completely this year and Summer will take over!
I haven’t joined in with the wonderful How does your garden grow? for a few weeks because frankly the words ‘grow’ and ‘garden’ have been so far apart in my little corner of that world as to be laughable. And, even I was starting to get a bit bored of pictures of snow :)
But, if you would like to see my retrospective of our winter in photos, please take a look at this post, which formed part of my #OneWeek collection for Winter 2014. Entitled Grey Scale, it gathers together my favourite photographs of the snow, and sums up how I have felt for much of the winter.
Linking with Annie’s How does your garden grow? Glad to be back :)
