The #BiBs 2014: Brilliance in Blogging Awards

It seems hardly any time since I was telling you all about the MAD Blog Awards, but now it’s the turn of the BiBs; the Brilliance in Blogging Awards! We are in the midst of awards season and the parent blogging community is again awash with hands waving in a vote for me kind of a way.

For those of you who read my blog and aren’t bloggers (and there are a fair few of you!), and are wondering why another brightly coloured box with ‘vote for me’ has appeared to the side of my blog, the BiBs are organised by BritMums and aim to showcase the best in UK parent lifestyle blogging.

Again, I want to encourage everyone who reads this blog to go and nominate your favourites. Bloggers and non-bloggers alike, if you love what someone writes, if it speaks to you, inspires you, makes you laugh, makes you cry – nominate! Even just being nominated is the best feeling in the world.

And, this is where I get to thank everyone who nominated me in the MADs! I was thrilled to find myself nominated in the Blog of the Year, Best Blog Writer, Best Blog Photography, Family Fun and Family Travel categories. A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate me. Just being nominated meant so much to me. I’d like to wish all the fabulous finalists all the very best!

Having felt very awkward about asking for votes outright for the MADs; I don’t for a minute think my little blog is going to win any awards; being nominated was such a massive, wonderful, special thing; that this time I am going to throw my hat in the ring and ask!

So, if you like my blog, I would absolutely love it if you would consider voting for me in the Fresh Voice (yes, my blog is less than 18 months old!); Writer or Family categories.

I write about all sorts; identity, motherhood, juggling, parenting and friendship. I also write about our new life in the US, and the challenges and opportunities that this has brought us.

My new linky #ThePrompt has given me the opportunity to really flex my writing muscles; I am particularly proud of Saddened, Reflection and If I had three wishes. I am also thrilled to be showcasing some fabulous writers, who each week are inspired by #ThePrompt and have published some truly special posts as a result.

This blogging lark is wonderful; it’s fun, it’s exciting, it’s inspiring: and I absolutely love it. Knowing that others like my blog too makes me very happy :)

I’m going to take some time over my own nominations, it’s incredibly tough to choose just one blog in each category. If you’re looking for some inspiration please take a look at my MADs post: I listed some of my very favourite bloggers there.

Nominating and voting is so important because these awards mean a lot to all the bloggers who work very hard at keeping their blogs fun, interesting, topical, informative and entertaining.

So, click on the badges above or below and get started :)

To help any non-bloggers *nudge nudge* get started; as the forms are a bit lengthy:
Blog Name: mumturnedmom
Blog URL:
Twitter ID: @mumturnedmom
Why: because I’m super?!
URL of favourite post: can’t really help you there (although a few of my own favourites are listed above…)

Nominations are open until 12 April, and you can nominate in all categories, or just a few.
