Happy Birthday Matilda Mae

Matilda-Mae-Stars

Today should mark the second birthday of Matilda Mae, daughter of Jennie who blogs over at Edspire. It should be a happy day. It should be a celebration of the future, not the past.

I have no words to make today better for Jennie, but I hope that everyone who marks this day; who remembers Matilda Mae, who sends words of support, of love, of strength; will give Jennie and her family some small measure of comfort.

As they survive another day with Matilda Mae.

As they say goodbye, again.

As they ask why, again.

As they blow bubble kisses to the sky.

As they looks to the stars.

As we join them, saying we will never forget.

Jennie has tirelessly campaigned to raise awareness and funds for The Lullaby Trust. You can support them here.

The image above is the result of my daughters very first finger painting experience, our very first Messy Play, inspired by Jennie and Matilda Mae. The words are taken from The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery.
