Word of the Week: Endings

endings

This week has seen some things come to an end.

My wonderful weekend in New York ended on a high with a trip to MoMA, a glorious gallery full of interesting and beautiful work, and a wander down 5th Avenue :)

We completed the sale of our old house. Our first house in the US; a house full of memories; and it was with mixed emotions that I closed the door for the final time.

Relief that we were finished moving; sadness at leaving a place where we had been so happy, where we made our first home here, where we made the decision to stay for longer; excitement at finally being in just one place, at the potential of our new home, at the opportunity to make new memories.

As we were handing the keys to the new owners, the boys were finishing their first day back at school. For us, summer is over and with Labor Day weekend upon us, we are marking the end of summer.

However, despite being a week of endings, it has also been a week of beginnings, and I am looking forward to what comes next.

How has your week been, what would your word of the week be?

    1. It has been quite a week, well, few weeks really! Looking forward to what comes next though :)

  1. A lot going on for you then. Yes, as with all endings, there come beginnings. It’s nice to look back, but it’ll be even better looking forward. Hope the boys are settling in well x Thanks for sharing with #WotW

  2. Glad the endings were mostly happy. I understand your mixed emotions re the finalizing of the sale of your old house. My parents sold the house in which I grew up in late 2013, and it was a mixed bag too.
