Sunday Showcase 10

Sunday Showcase - Featured Image

Welcome to Sunday Showcase, where I highlight one of my favourite blogs, recommend a few of the posts I enjoyed reading this week and capture a moment that made me smile.

Again, it’s been two weeks since my last Showcase, perhaps fortnightly is the way to go!!

A blog I love…

Becky blogs over at Diary of a Fat Bottomed Girl. She is a regular on The Prompt, writing wonderful poetry, and I always love to read her work.

Recently she and her family have been dealt a dreadful hand, and Becky has allowed us to join them on their journey as her husband battles cancer. Her posts are honest and raw; they are sad and uplifting at the same time. Her strength and determination are inspiring.

If you haven’t read Becky’s blog, I strongly urge you to pop over. This recent post, Goodbye Cancer Leg, is a good place to start and her poems In Between and Visitor are two current favourites of mine.

Becky is also a very well deserved finalist in this years Brilliance in Blogging Awards in the Readers’ Choice category and I wish her lots of luck.

A post I loved…

My continued internal dialogue on blogging and what it means for me drew me to this wonderful and eloquent post, on the endless possibilities for blogging, from Carie over at Space for the Butterflies.

Reading this post from Sarah over at Mum of Three World, on conversations with her son, made me smile as I can so completely relate. Any conversation, however mundane, is to be treasured as they get older!

I haven’t read the wonderfully funny R is for Hoppit for a while, too many blogs, too little time! But I popped over the other night and had a good chuckle, so I’m sharing this one on mythological toddlers :)

Lastly, but by no means least, this letter to her newborn son from Jo over at Not a Frumpy Mum, made me cry.

A moment I loved…

It’s almost summer vacation. It’s so close we can almost touch it! The wee girl finishes up tomorrow, and the boys a week later. Then it’s ten weeks of freedom (and noise!). The weather has finally been looking up and although still mixed, my daughter has been spending lots of time in the garden which I just love to see. Starting as we mean to go on, the chalks and bubbles are out and I fully expect us to go through gallons of bubble mixture over the next couple of months. Can’t wait :)

Blowing Bubbles

So, there we have it. Week 10 of Sunday Showcase… I will be back next Sunday (or perhaps the one after that!), sharing more great blogs with you!
