As the sea change that we talk of,
in fear of what may come,
takes form,
in whispers that echo in ears and minds,
we wait,
and the sea is patient.
In the swirling maelstrom of necessity
that drives us to erase the past,
we see a storm of memories,
turbulent in their depth.
As the sea change that we talk of,
in expectation of relief,
crashes on the shore of dreams
long held and treasured,
we wait,
and the sea is patient.
Becalmed in the safety of decisions made
to begin again, anew and fresh,
we are like sand washed clean
by gentle waves.
As the sea change that we talk of,
in hope of what may come,
takes shape,
in words that heal with quiet power,
we wait,
and the sea is patient.

Beautiful!
Wow Sara I love this poem. I’m saving it in Keep to come back to, and sharing it with my little band of readers shoo they too can have the pleasure.
The opening line filled me with dread, but I love how positive vibes unfolded through this piece. ‘We are like sand washed clean by gentle waves’ -just beautiful! xx
Just beautiful. I love that it turned out completely different to how I thought it was going to and it made me smile at the end. #prose4t
Beautifully soothing as the calmer waves settled towards the end of your piece. I love the rhythm and it captures the sea so perfectly x #prose4t
You really have expressed the strength and determination of the sea in this piece – we could learn a lot from acting in a similar way. Beautifully written as always. Thanks for linking to Prose for Thought and thanks for hosting the prompt x
