After realising last week that I needed to take a step back and not get hung up on the detail of that elusive ‘perfect’ Christmas, I have felt a real sense of relief this week.

As we speed towards Christmas, a Christmas for which I have not yet done a thing; no decorations up, no cards written much less posted, no presents bought; I am struck by how ridiculously fast this week has been!

This week had the potential to be chaotic. The first half of the week saw us running from one activity to another. The second half was more measured.

This week has revolved around travel. People travelling to visit us, me travelling to see family.

I’m fighting a losing battle with plaster dust! It is everywhere. On every floor and every surface.

Despite the dust and destruction in the house. Despite the mud and mess in the garden.

This week can only be about holes. I have holes all over my house!

After realising last week that I needed to make some changes in the way that I organise my days, I have made a start. Admittedly not a very big start, but a start nonetheless.
